Base cooking behavior

PropertyRecorded value
NoteimportedThe recovered FoodCooking class advances its cooking timer using the game simulation speed. Its default cooking threshold is 30 and its maximum timer is 90.
NoteimportedAfter the cooking threshold, food changes to its cooked inventory type. The burnt label appears when the burn-progress fraction exceeds 0.85, which is beyond 81 on the default timer.
NoteimportedThese are base class values, not a promise of real-world seconds. Food-specific overrides and simulation speed can affect the experience.

Prepare your pot

PropertyRecorded value
NoteimportedThe in-game guide says to set the pot on coals with no water in it, then add raw fish or meat. For melting snow, collect snow with the steel pot and set it near the fire on coals.
